Steven is passionate about building innovative reoccurring revenue business models, generating attractive shareholder returns, by driving high EBITDA margins through aggressive P&L management and visionary leadership. His operating and investing thesis is data driven and focused in the security services and defense sector. He has an in-depth knowledge of entrepreneurial management experience as an operating executive growing early stage start-ups into successful cash flow positive businesses.

Steven has a unique combination of public and private sector leadership experience. He began his entrepreneurial career as Co-Founder and CEO of BlackBox GPS, a SaaS Telematics company, where he had a successful exit in 2009. Shortly thereafter he founded a security services business attracting private equity investments sharing a similar investing thesis. His public sector leadership experience was gained in state law enforcement working in various operational capacities.

Steven is CEO at S3 Security and Managing Director at SPGH, Inc. He invests and advises early stage companies that provide private law enforcement, central station dispatch, video monitoring surveillance, physical security, and reality-based training. In addition, he operates in a reserve leadership law enforcement capacity.

Steven graduated form Eastern Illinois University with a BA in Corporate Communication and is completing his MA in Homeland Security from American Military University. He is a Board Member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Southeast Region Chapter, American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), and International Chiefs of Police Association (IACP). He enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs, the bio-hacking, and triathletes.

Chief Operations Officer

Jennifer graduated from Florida International University in Miami Florida with a BS in Occupational Therapy. She began her career as an Occupational Therapist with a specialty in Orthopedic Care in clinical outpatient and homecare settings. Jennifer received continuing education under Matheson Model in Functional Capacity Evaluations and partnered with National Worker’s Compensation Networks.

During her career in Occupational Therapy Jennifer found a niche in building relationships with her patients, physicians, and medical device manufacturers. After a successful career in therapy, she transitioned into Orthopedic Device Medical Sales. Jennifer excelled as Regional Sales Manager for a leading Orthopedic Brace Company growing her market to the highest revenue producing within the company.

After a successful tenure in medical sales Jennifer was recruited to build a customer service function for a venture capital backed portfolio of security services businesses. After several years of building the customer service function and significantly increasing customer retention, Jennifer was recruited to manage the company’s day-to-day Finance and Administration Department. Jennifer worked closely with her team focusing on cash flow management, accounts receivables, accounts payables, payroll, and human resources. Jennifer sat on several committees appointed by the Board of Directors including the Compensation Committee.

As Jennifer’s grassroots in business and entrepreneurial experience grew so did the portfolio of security companies. In January 2017, Jennifer transitioned to Chief Operations Officer. Jennifer’s experience in leading sales, marketing, customer service, and finance roles brings the business a unique intuitional knowledge base and an innovative perspective to the security sector. Jennifer lives in her hometown Jacksonville Beach, FL and in her off time, she enjoys boating, traveling, cooking and spending time with her husband and 2 dogs.

Corporate Controller

Tulika has been in the field of accounting for almost 18 years now. She has a degree in Accounting & Economics (Commerce) from India and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The Coggin College Of Business, University Of North Florida, Jacksonville, FL. She also has a certification from the National Association of Certified Bookkeepers.

Tulika used to work as a Tax Associate for H&R Block before joining WideEye Surveillance.

Tulika has lived in Florida for 8 years now and likes to volunteer at her kid’s school whenever she has free time. She loves to spend time with her family. Her hobbies include cooking, watching movies, listening to music, Zumba and hiking. She also enjoys volunteering at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and American Cancer Society.

Jon DickeyJon Dickey
Tallahassee and Gainesville, FL Senior Operations Manager

Jon brings over 12 years of security expertise to S3 Security. After he graduated high school in 1995 he began his security career working alongside military professionals as a Personal Security Detail officer and crowd control specialist. Jon has advanced training in roadside interviewing and evading honesty detection, De-escalation tactics. Most notably, Jon is also an ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) certified trainer for civilian response to active shooter events awarded through Texas State University.

As the Senior Operations Manager, Jon oversees the Gainesville, FL and Tallahassee, FL security operations. In his 5 years of service to S3 Security, he has received multiple awards for exceptional leadership and dedication to S3. Jon’s primary responsibilities include directing two separate mobile security teams that oversee 33 sites and are responsible for the safety and security of over 20,000 individuals on a day-to-day basis. Jon is also responsible for logistics, account and personnel management, assisting with company training, and overall strategic growth. Jon is also the liaison between S3 and the local law enforcement agencies who protect and serve our communities.

Jon joined S3 in 2012 and immediately recognized the company’s goals were in line with his own – providing unmatched security services and building positive professional relationships with the clients and the residents we serve.

In his downtime, Jon enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, shooting, tactical team training, boxing, and mixed martial arts.

John P. Ward, Jr.
Executive Chairman

John has been a professional, private equity and venture capital investor for 20 years, and has been through several capital markets and economic cycles. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors for both publicly traded and private companies and has been an Executive Chairman of the Board, as well as Chairman of Audit and Compensation Committees. He’s a company builder with deep experience in the management of executives and personnel, sales and marketing, finance and financial analysis, business operations, strategic and business plan development, M&A, and executive recruiting.

John loves working with CEOs and management teams in optimizing their business so they can dominate a target industry segment. He does this by aiding them in organizing to create an environment of disciplined operational execution and the high impact application of a company’s competitive economic advantages.

He began his career as an officer with United States Naval Intelligence, and when he left the Navy, he worked for Fidelity Investments as a quota bearing sales representative. He started as a venture investor in 1996 at BancBoston Capital and went on to become a General Partner at M/C Venture Partners (now M/C Partners) and then a Managing Director at Key Venture Partners, both in the Boston area.

He has had successful investments across a range of industries from Telecommunications and Data Centers to Cloud Computing Software, Security Services, Energy Services, and even Waste Management. The common thread among these projects has been a services-based recurring revenue model or a unique economic advantage enabled by the application of information technology. Most recently, he is the Managing Partner of Unit Economic Investors in Boston and Jacksonville, FL.

Patrick Seal
Business Operations Managers — Jacksonville, FL

Patrick Seal is the S3 Security, Business Operations Manager responsible for the Jacksonville, FL market. Patrick has years of business management experience gained in logistics industry where he held a management role for one of the largest freight brokerages in the nation. Prior to working in the logistics industry Patrick owned and operated a restaurant franchise in Neptune Beach, FL responsible for running all aspects of the business.

Patrick attended the University of North Florida with a focus on communications and marketing. His experience in logistics and small business has allowed him to gather a vast knowledge of expertise focused in commercial Operations, Business Development, and Customer Service. Patrick is dedicated to tech-enabling a centuries old services industry by providing security services and improved processes to S3 Security commercial and multi-family real estate customers providing a safe and secure environment.

Patrick is married and has two dogs, in his spare time he can be found enjoying the many trails that Jacksonville, FL has to offer with his wife and dogs. He is also an avid fisherman and enjoys spending time along the river and ocean.
